How to determine a diamond-shaped face type in women

Hairstyle is an important step in creating your ideal look. Her choice depends on many factors: hair structure, size and shape of the face. The shade of the hair is also of no small importance - dark shades narrow the face, and light ones make it wider and rounder. But the hairstyle should also fit the shape of the face, in order to emphasize the more advantageous sides and mask the flaws.

The diamond shape is one of the rarest face types. She is distinguished by the following characteristics: a wide face along the cheekbones, narrow in the forehead and chin. This shape is also called "diamond".

What will work and what should be discarded with a diamond-shaped face

Not suitable: ultra-short male haircuts, combed smoothly tail, short and wide bangs. Also, do not comb back the side strands.

Hair length. The best option is the length of the hair to the middle of the neck and the beginning of the shoulders. It can be an elongated square. Long hair needs extra volume at the ends of the strands.

Councils for the selection of hairstyles. The main rule is to avoid volume in the cheekbones, it must be transferred to the chin or upper part of the ears. It is worth giving preference to the side parting and abandoning the direct part. This technique focuses on the eyes and visually widens the forehead. Slight negligence is a good styling option, as slicked-back hair draws attention to the disproportionateness of the face. For lovers of short hair, it is better to choose haircuts with volume on the top of the head.

Hairstyles with bangs

Regardless of the length of the haircut, in order to smooth out sharp corners and narrow the cheekbones, you should pay attention to the bangs. For a diamond-shaped face, thick straight bangs will not work, as it will emphasize the unwanted width of the cheekbones. It is better to choose the following options: elongated, oblique.

For short and thin hair, it is better to choose a semicircular bang. It will give the face proportionality, make it more round, wider.

On thin hair

With fine hair, the main task is to create shape. This can be achieved using different types of graduations. The ideal option is a torn haircut with oblique bangs.

Long hair

Long hair is a good way to shape your face as it allows you to choose from many different styles. In this case, large curls and waves are especially relevant. Choosing a haircut for long hair with a diamond-shaped face type, you should pay attention to the "ladder" and multilayer options. The main taboo is a straight parting without a bang.

In no case should you wear an "oblique" elongated bangs! This will only emphasize the shape: the narrow forehead will become even narrower, and the cheekbones against its background are disproportionately wide! It is straight (!) And not too long (eyebrows should be visible), slightly voluminous, but not "curly" bangs will correct all the shortcomings of this type of face! (I myself have this face shape and during the years of torment I learned everything as “Our Father”!). She will HIDE the narrowing of the forehead up !!! And the cheekbones will remain the same (nothing prevents them from being slightly covered with side hair). No cascades to the diamond-shaped face! Only a smooth cut or a slight graduation - why? We shouldn't round the middle of the face and thin the hair at the bottom! No short haircuts! A classic square (but not shorter than the chin) will do.The rest - in no case! A “naked” face open below will look massive, and a shape a la “crooked potatoes” grown in Chernobyl will work! Only long hair AT SKOOL! Heavy enough not to bulge in this part (I have wavy, with vortices and light - the most difficult type for a rhombus to correct!). Those strands that are cut off shorter start to rise and look fuller - so no ladders (we don’t need to make our already nice “cheeks” more luxuriant!). A couple more notes: in practice, a rhombus is never long! (This is a great rarity, not typical for Russians, Slavs and even Caucasians). Our rhombus is usually wide (like a “curved circle”), the chin is narrow DOWN, and does not immediately taper from the ears (this is a triangular face, on the contrary, his forehead is wide). Our rhombus is closer to a 5-gon (with an angle at the bottom and 2 at the top). Sometimes a little closer to pear-shaped (the bottom is heavy), but differs in a greater width at the level of the ears and a sharp (but not long!) Chin, more often it is oblique.
